When trollies came through this stretch of Richmond in the 1920s, it was a bustling urban village, home to a hospital, butcher shop, pharmacy, newsstand, and more. The concentration of business and activity was enough to attract the attention of the Ukrop family. They briefly hosted the city’s second Ukrop’s Market here. While this section of the Upper Fan has always had a retail presence, in the late 1970s it was known more for its boisterous bars, rowdy saloons, and life after dark, which is how it earned the moniker, Devil’s Triangle. Over time the area mellowed and evolved, but it never lost its edge or sense of excitement.

It’s been a helluva journey for this uniquely Richmond destination in the heart of the Historic District. We’re proud to be part of the neighborhood and are excited about all the good things that lie ahead. Hope to see you soon.

“I love all of the murals. And the pizza is really good, too. What a fun day.”
